If you're in the market for a military grade tough phone without the bulk, then check out the latest  IIIF150  Ultra Thin Rugged Phones.

In this video I got hands on with several models checking out the toughness and water resistance capabilities.

They are impressively thin considering how tough they are in and out of the water.

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Tesla Semi rolls out - Boost Trade-in app - Therabody Smart Goggles

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Jaynie Seal) we covered the delivery of the first Tesla semitrailer in the United States. Australian truckies are set for a much longer wait to get behind the wheel of Elon Musk’s latest electric vehicle.  At the moment the Tesla Semi might be too wide according to Australian regulations and although its range is 800 kms (impressive) - it won’t make Brisbane to Sydney on a single charge - YET.

But this is a game-changer vehicle. Even under full load it drives like a car. This could encourage more truckies into work.  Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 20 seconds (full load), single seat but you can stand up in the cabin, powered by three electric motors, safer downhill due to regenerative braking and recharge to 70 per cent in 30 minute using "mega chargers".

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Mind-blowing DALL-E 2 AI images - Huawei Blood Pressure Watch - Bonelk Elevate Laptop Stands

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Kristie Lloyd) we explained how Artificial Intelligence is making it possible to create any image (realistic or stylistic) you can dream of by just typing out a description. DALL-E 2, the latest version of Open AI DALL-E is creating a whole new field of art and photography. The AI takes a request, like a Koala on a Motorcycle, then creates multiple versions of it from scratch. Some of the renders are absolutely photo-real.

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Inside Telstra Blue Tick Lab - Projectors v TVs - Withings Scanwatch Horizon

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we took a TV exclusive tour of Telstra’s upgraded Blue Tick lab which is in a secret location. Telstra’s Blue Tick program is way more important than I first thought. They are able to simulate outdoor conditions to make sure phones work in Australia - most importantly - in fringe coverage areas. The way we hold a smartphone could prove the difference between making a call or having no signal at all. It’s just one of the many tests inside the lab. It could make the difference on highways or farms by kilometres. And that’s a safety issue.

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Norton anti-scam service - Vivid via Canon VR - Therabody headlines fitness and wellness expo

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we looked at Norton’s new one-stop solution for online safety. It’s called Norton 360 Advanced. We discuss how it does all the usual stuff; virus, malware, spyware and ransomware protection - but it also does a lot more for just over $250 AUD. There’s a VPN for online privacy, cloud storage (200GB), parental controls, password manager, dark web and social media monitoring.

But what really interested me were the tools to fight identity theft. You not only get a real person to talk to - they will remain your ‘agent’ until the situation is resolved - you get insurance, worth up to $58 000 AUD.

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News: Google Medical Sensors - Big wait for Mac Studio - Uniden Dash Cam Trial

In our recent segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Gabriella Power) we looked Google’s annual health event “The Check up” and the company’s emphasis on body sensors. Currently patients recovering from knee surgery attend a gait lab for 3D motion capture. But Google is hoping to get similar results by using existing USB-dongle-sized sensors. These sensors would track relevant metrics, like knee angular velocity. This data, collected 24/7, would then be used to improve the recovery process. As the owner of bad knees - this is great news.

Image Matrix Tech on Sky News - Health Trackers and COVID - Pet Health Radar Sensors - Zoom Lighting - Best MagSafe Chargers

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Tim Gilbert) we looked at fitness trackers and COVID-19. Sophisticated companion apps are showing key changes that might indicate a positive case BEFORE symptoms show.

RESPIRATORY RATE - Many WHOOP members have reported experiencing an increase in respiratory rate coinciding with symptoms of COVID-19.

BLOOD OXYGEN LEVEL - People with COVID-19 often have low blood oxygen levels, which may be a warning sign that you are in need of medical care.

Easiest trackers I’ve found for this data is WHOOP 4.0 and Withings Scanwatch. Apple Watch can record both but you must set up sleep tracking first to record breathing. Although not medical devices fitness trackers could provide invaluable information to a doctor looking for trends.

Shenzhen

This is a highlight package of Shenzhen's amazing light show celebrating China's 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. The rise of Shenzhen from 30 thousand to more than 12 million since 1980 has to be seen to be believed. It's a must visit for any tech lover.
