Police only need to use voice commands thanks to Motorola Solutions core application. Using CarPlay and SIRI has cut down the amount of paperwork officers are required to do per shift which means more time on the streets. I saw the demo firsthand at Motorola Solutions HQ this week. WA Police has been using the system for more than a year and in this segment I can tell you exclusively what the results are.

WING is introducing a Delivery Network - which means the drones can take orders as they come in like a ride-share service. Instead one home base, drones can pick up from many locations, using a new autoloader that means retail staff don’t have to wait for a drone. WING plans to roll out elements of Wing Delivery Network capabilities over the next 12 months. This could be the key for deliveries by drone to take the next step towards mainstream adoption.

It uses e-ink technology on numerous panels so you can have racing stripes and multiple colours at once.  The ultimate goal for the Australian engineer leading the project, Stella Clarke - is to make it a spray on system.

But that means homes will be vulnerable to break-ins. There was a decrease in the number of reported crimes between 2019-2020 due to strict lockdown policies in Australia as a result of COVID-19.

Australian truckies are set for a much longer wait to get behind the wheel of Elon Musk’s latest electric vehicle.  At the moment the Tesla Semi might be too wide according to Australian regulations and although its range is 800 kms (impressive) - it won’t make Brisbane to Sydney on a single charge - YET.  

But this is a game-changer vehicle. Even under full load it drives like a car. This could encourage more truckies into work.  Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 20 seconds (full load), single seat but you can stand up in the cabin, powered by three electric motors, safer downhill due to regenerative braking and recharge to 70 per cent in 30 minute using "mega chargers".

In the United States last year, 210 million packages went missing. As Australians spend more than 6 billion dollars on Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this weekend .. authorities are warning about a rise in parcel theft. In this segment we show how doorbell cameras like Ring and Google Nest (my current choice) are realtime deterrents.

Black Friday sales begin this week but one wrong link could end up costing you a lot more. Cybersecurity company Proofpoint has found one in four (25%) of Australia’s top 100 online retailers are not taking appropriate measures to protect consumers from potential email fraud and cyber crime.

Some already have left. We discuss if leaving now is a good idea, should people wait? Twitter is a mess - always has been - but that’s part of the charm.

The decision by Ford and Volkswagen to pull out ARGO AI is significant, as together they pumped 3.6 billion US dollars into the business. Ford is going to put its money into driver assist technology rather than full-blown AI driving, which many now believe is decades away from becoming a reality on our roads.
