It’s Dyson’s first cordless vacuum to feature the next-generation motor, spinning at up to 135,000 RPM but it’s also a fully sealed system - and that’s important for our lungs. The machine features a fully sealed, whole-machine HEPA filtration system, engineered to capture 99.99% of particles down to 0.1 microns.

Although other trackers like Tile have been around for some time, AirTags have really changed the game due to the number of devices, not just phones, that are part Find My system.

Of course there were many phones there but we saw very few major reveals. The convention has become something a little different. Connectivity is about more than phones with the expanse of 5G globally. So laptops and hybrid devices are sharing the limelight with ‘traditional’ smartphones.

TCL made its mark during the week with a range of devices including - yes - phones.

Plus many other phone launches are happening before and after MWC in Barcelona. OPPO made jaw-dropping leap in fast charging. 240 Watts capable of charging a 4500 mAh battery from 0-100% in just nine minutes.

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Jaynie Seal) we looked at Sony’s strange-looking wireless earbuds - LinkBuds.

Sony’s unique ring design with audio transparency links online and offline worlds for a “Never Off” wearing experience. LinkBuds are also integrated with Microsoft Soundscape allowing the vision impaired to receive audio guidance - hands free.

LinkBuds will be available in Australia from April 2022 for $299.95.

In Sunday's segment on Sky News Australia (Weekend Edition with Jaynie Seal) we looked at Elon Musk’s offer to help restore internet services to tsunami ravaged Tonga.

Musk said on Twitter: “This is a hard thing for us to do right now, as we don’t have enough satellites with laser links and there are already geo sats that serve the Tonga region. That is why I’m asking for clear confirmation.” 

Digicel workers have got some connectively going, handed out free sims and Telstra made calls free to Tonga. But Musk is right about the difficulties in getting Starlink to provide internet coverage over Tonga at this point. We discuss the reasons.
